What does it all mean?
Exfoliation involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin’s surface allowing access to open pores and newer skin. Exfoliation is involved in all facials and can be accomplished through manual or mechanical and chemical methods.
Extraction is the process of clearing clogged or compacted dirt and other particles mechanically from inside the pores to cleanse the skin. Most people will require multiple extractions, specifically if it is your first facial.
Masks work by driving ingredients closer and deeper into the skin, infusing your pores and allowing the skin to soak up more of the product. They can give you a glow and even be soothing for sensitive or inflamed skin. The right face mask will hydrate skin, remove oils, remove impurities, and improve the overall appearance of pores.
Massage is exactly what it sounds like: the act of massaging your face. Whether you’re only using your hands or getting help from a tool (e.g., a jade roller), the benefits include increased circulation, decreased puffiness, a more lifted visage and the melting away of any tension in your face.
3D Photon LED Light Mask is the process of exposing the LED light to the skin’s surface to activate the skin’s photoreceptors to absorb the energy. 3D Mask devices are best used after exfoliation to help stimulate collagen production and kill the bacteria that cause acne breakouts. This type of therapy can treat everything from wrinkles, redness, and signs of aging to acne, scarring, and dark spots.
Non-chemical Peel or vitamin A infusion works differently than a chemical peel. Rather than peeling the outer layers a non chemical peel works from the inside out avoiding the burning and stinging sensations often associated with a chemical peel. Peels are used to treat wrinkles, skin discoloration and scars and are designed to work over time so your skin may peel over a few days, or a week; however, the results are worth it!
Microdermabrasion: Tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to gently remove the outer layer.. This is less aggressive so you don’t need numbing medicine. It may feel a little uncomfortable but shouldn’t hurt. Your skin will be slightly tender with the possibility of a slight red appearance afterwards. It is also common to experience some peeling after microdermabrasion. It is a rejuvenation procedure that improves the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age/dark spots, acne scarring, and other skin-related concerns or conditions.
Vitamin C has antioxidant properties (ascorbic acid) that play a big role in collagen synthesis making it vital to overall skin health. Dietary and topical ascorbic acid have beneficial effects on skin cells and may help prevent and treat ultraviolet (UV)-induced photodamage. Vitamin C allows the skin to absorb collagen which can be found in all creams for anti-aging since collagen production slows with age.
Vitamin E is also an antioxidant important to skin health. It supports the cell function or overall “immunity” of your skin as it protects against free radicals, UV light, and damage such as scars. More commonly it is heard of being used to lighten dark spots found on the skin through helping to regenerate the skin in the affected area.
