What NOT to do After a Facial

Are you looking to treat yourself after a long and stressful week at work? Are you struggling with a chaotic home life, or is it just life in general that has you down in the dumps! Without a doubt the  truth is we all need to have time to ourselves!

Sometimes that involves a trip to the spa to wind down and relax…. Regular facials are recommended every four to six weeks. Not only…but facials help combat the toll of stress, the environment, and some of our daily habits taken on our skin.  However, we never really think about the do’s and don’ts after receiving a facial. It should be noted that it can be extremely imperative to our skins health that we follow these important steps!

  • Avoid picking at your skin, as your skin is very sensitive and can cause irritation as well potential scarring.
  • Skip the heavy makeup and skin-care products-as your skin can be more susceptible to more bacteria
  • Go easy on your face when washing it- stick to gentle hydrating cleansers
  • Skip the toner-they can cause irritation or dryness to the skin
  • Reschedule your workout-increased heat in the skin and sweat can be irritating to your freshly exfoliated skin
  • Over exfoliating can damage your skins protective barrier
  • Stay out of the sun
  • Stay away from waxing and laser treatments- Over exfoliation (waxing) can cause the skin to lift leaving a sore/scab on your brow

Nonetheless at the end of the day, week or month. Take a well needed break for yourself just to sit back and relax. We all deserve a “Me Day.”
